Interested in our Earn-A-Bike program? Stop by the shop and let one of our volunteers know and we’ll set you up. Here’s how the Earn-A-Bike Program works:
– Complete 6 hours of volunteer time at the shop. You can work on tasks that keep the shop running, such as cleaning the space or fixing bikes for us to sell, which keeps the doors open and the lights on. Or, you can spend time learning bike repair skills with one of our shop monitors as they assist other patrons of the Bike Project.
– Pick out a bike from our stock of donated bikes/frames eligible for the Earn-A-Bike program.
– Work on the bike during our open hours until it is ready to ride. Your bike will usually require some additional hours of work to make sure it’s functional and safe.
